Mike White, Owner and CEO of Multi-Media Solutions

Mike White, president and CEO of Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., was born and raised in Blount County. Married for 26 years and the father of 2 teenaged sons, he holds leadership positions at his church, the First Baptist Church of Alcoa.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Before entering the audio visual industry, Mike worked in pharmaceutical sales for over 5 years, and was recognized as National Rookie of the Year 1980 and National Salesman of the Year 1983 by Syntex Labs. He followed that by a move back into industries where his degree would be put to good use; working in sales of computer peripherals for Gentry Associates for 2 years.

In 1977, Mike started a company called Computers Plus, which specialized in Point-of-Sale touch screen systems. It was as the president of Computers Plus that Mike found himself more and more drawn toward audio visual technology and systems integration, as his clients' needs accelerated in that direction. The acceleration was so dramatic that in 1990, Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. was born, absorbing Computers Plus within it.

Mike guided the company, whose mission statement is "Audio Visual System Integration with Integrity", in steady upward growth from a 3-person operation to the current 15-person firm. MMS was chosen as one of INC Magazines 500 Fastest Growing Companies in 2001.

Mike has his CTS Certification from the International Communications Industries Association, Inc.® - it is the industry standard certification program for professionals in the audiovisual industry. The CTS Certification is the result of a great deal of specialized study for the certification test.

Mike is also one of the founding partners of the ClearPath Group. (www.clearpathgroup.org); and has brought MMS to Affiliate status with the USAV Group (www.usavgroup.net), a national Audio Visual Integrator consortium. USAV Group hosts a number of professional improvement events for its members, and Mike organized and taught their Digital Signage University. Mike has brought MMS to a position of leadership in the digital signage field.

Mike is sought after as a speaker and teacher at many different types of events. He was the keynote speaker at the National Organization of Executive Office Suites' annual conference, has spoken on control room technology for the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts, spoke on digital signage at the CTEC 2004 event in Philadelphia, and at the Tennessee Education Technology Conference in Nashville.

In December 2005, Mike was elected to the InfoComm International 2006 Board of Governors. InfoComm is the world's largest trade association of the professional audiovisual and information communications industries.
