FOCUSING AND DIRECTING SOUND WITH BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY

Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. Will Integrate American Technologies’ HyperSonic Sound and the LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device) In System Designs

ALCOA and BRENTWOOD, TN:

Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. (MMS), Affiliate Member of USAV Group, will be one of the premier system integrators using American Technology’s proprietary sound products in two very important emerging areas of audio visual system integration. USAV Group LLC has signed a preferred partnership agreement with American Technology Corp. The MMS Team will attend a targeted training course on the technology in June.

First, the designer of dynamic digital signage/captive audience network systems will use the HyperSonic Sound  (HSS) Technology for directional sound requirements of digital signage systems. HyperSonic Sound technology uses directional ultrasonic columns to provide the highest quality audio control and placement. While operating in Direct Mode, HSS can provide private listening for one person by focusing and restricting sound to a specific location. In Virtual Mode, it can create a virtual speaker by projecting sound towards a surface, such as a screen, which will cause a listener to perceive the sound source to originate from that specific location. In addition to digital signage and audio marketing, HSS has command center applications to reduce noise pollution and increase message differentiation and immediate content understanding.

Second, the Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) is known throughout the Department of Defense as “The Sound of Force Protection™.” According to Senate testimony by the Directorate of Science and Technology, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, “LRAD is one of the most promising existing technologies that S&T has introduced.” LRAD is a breakthrough long-range notification and warning, directed acoustic beam device that was developed to communicate with authority and superior intelligibility at operationally significant ranges. LRAD is being used to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. LRAD is suitable for Security applications, such as Law Enforcement crowd-control situations, and commercial use may include stadium and festival communication.

The HyperSonic Sound system will be demonstrated at the Multi-Media Solutions-produced “Audio Visual Showcase 2005” at the Knoxville Convention Center on August 17th.

Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. is a 15 year old design and integration company offering audio visual technology solutions for commercial, industrial, education and government markets. MMS’s corporate headquarters are in Alcoa, with an additional sales office in Brentwood, TN.
