Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. Achieves AV Industry Certification

Certified AudioVisual Solutions Provider Program Signifies Company Commitment to Education and Training

ALCOA and BRENTWOOD, TN, January 13, 2005:

Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. today announced its participation in the audiovisual industry’s highly regarded certification program, marking its commitment to education and training for all employees. MMS has earned the Gold Level CAVSP which recognizes that 75% of all sales, customer service and technical staff must have and maintain valid general or specialized CTS certifications, or 50% general and 15% specialized CTS certification.

The Certified AudioVisual Solutions Provider (CAVSP) Program is the industry standard certification program for companies in the professional audiovisual industry.  It is administered by The International Communications Industries Association, Inc.® (ICIA®) and the International Communications Industries Foundation (ICIF).

“A CAVSP designation gives AV companies a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., ICIA’s executive director. “Customers of audiovisual communications and presentation systems can be confident of professionalism and an aspiration to excellence when working with these companies that have invested in education and training to stay current on the latest AV technologies and techniques.”

The CAVSP Program includes three levels -- basic, silver and gold certified members -- depending on the percentage of staff within an organization who have received individual certification. Individual certification is known as the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) program, and consists of general certification as well as specialized certification in design, installation, rentals or sales.

”The CTS certifications require a great deal of specialized study for the certification test – I’m very proud of our Team for their efforts and successful certification. Since the CTS certification means that a high level of audio visual integration knowledge and expertise has been reached, the Gold Level designation MMS has achieved is very firm proof of our current standard of excellence and our commitment to continuing education for our team members.”, states Mike White, President of Multi-Media Solutions, Inc.

“This Gold Level of CTS certification is a very good way for anyone looking for audio visual solutions to be assured of an AV Integrator’s capabilities and knowledge”

White adds “I’d like to commend the following team members at MMS who have their CTS certification: in our Nashville office, George Gates and Greg McDougald; in our corporate office, Steve White, Jennifer Stafford, John Hodges, Richard Young, Steve Davis, and myself. Scott Starritt, of our technical team, is well on his way to his CTS certification, also..”

Companies eligible for CAVSP status include businesses that manufacture, sell, integrate, design, provide consultation on or rent AV equipment, systems and services. The CAVSP program (formerly ICIA’s Certified Member Program) ties in with the AVolution Industry Awareness Campaign that promotes the skills and talents of professional AV solutions providers (AVSPs).  To achieve CAVSP status, the company must participate in AVolution by agreeing to 10 Standards of Excellence.
