Second Year on Governing Board of International Trade Association Keeps Blount County Businessman Busy.

Mike White, CEO of Alcoa-based Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., starts his second year as Governor-at-Large of the InfoComm International® Board of Governors in 2007

ALCOA and BRENTWOOD, TN:

InfoComm (formerly known as ICIA®) is the trade association of the professional audiovisual and information communications industries. InfoComm’s membership is made up of over 3,500 companies and individuals located in over 70 countries, representing tens of thousands of AV communications professionals.

Mike White’s first year on the Board of Governors kept him very involved in InfoComm’s long-term commitment to industry standardization, specifically the ISO9000 and ANSI standards. ISO9000 is a family of standards developed to provide a framework around which a quality management system can effectively be based, which is critical in the manufacturing, testing and evaluating of audio visual technology. The American National Standards Institute coordinates the development and use of voluntary consensus standards in the United States and represents the needs and views of U.S. stakeholders in standardization forums around the globe. Both of these projects require dedicated interaction between industry associations.

White has also been a member of the “IQ Solutions Board”, which oversees the integrity of InfoComm’s huge data base of products, solution providers and more, which, among other things, provides a huge catalog of listings and web sites for prospective A/V customers to use as a resource.

White predicts that his 2007 term as a Governor-at-Large will be focused on InfoComm’s Training programs, which develop coursework to raise the level of industry standards among A/V professionals, and developing leadership conferences and seminars for Audiovisual business owners.  He also expects to work with the Board to expand and support the global expansion of InfoComm- trade shows in Europe and Asia enrich and energize the industry globally.

Mike has his CTS Certification from InfoComm - it is the industry standard certification program for professionals in the audiovisual industry. The CTS Certification is the result of a great deal of specialized study for the certification test.

In addition to Mike’s duties with InfoComm, and as the CEO of Multi-Media Solutions, he will also be called upon to be a speaker at a number of national audiovisual events, based on his recent cover story in ProAV magazine.
