large, hat to his wardrobe. As a newly elected Governor At Large of the InfoComm International® 2006 Board of Governors he’ll be
adding his voice and industry expertise to the world’s largest Audiovisual trade association.
InfoComm (formerly known as ICIA®) is the trade association of the professional
audiovisual and information communications industries. InfoComm’s membership is made up of over 3,500
companies and individuals located in over 70 countries, representing tens
of thousands of AV communications professionals.
Says White, “For A/V
System Integrators like Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., InfoComm is more than just a
membership organization; it is the world-recognized source for training, certification, industry conferences & trade
shows, research, industry news, market data and much more. I was honored to be
nominated, and am humbled by the resulting election. I take my leadership
responsibility to this world-wide industry association very seriously. ”
Serving as part of InfoComm’s governing body means helping to
guide and establish policies for the Association, including helping determine
human resources policies, planning, finance, member relations, and
organizational operations. Mike is also eligible to serve on one of the 3
advisory committees which assist in governing the Board, and investigating,
deliberating and analyzing special issues.
“We are pleased to have Mike White serving on
our Board of Governors,” said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director of InfoComm
International®. “Mike’s in-depth knowledge of the
audiovisual industry and his stellar business experience makes him uniquely
qualified to play a leadership role in our organization, and we look forward to
having him as a member of our Board of Governors for the next two years.”
Mike has been immersed in the world of audio visual
systems for decades. In 1977, Mike started a company called Computers Plus,
which specialized in Point-of-Sale touch screen systems. It was as the
president of Computers Plus that Mike found himself more and more drawn toward
audio visual technology and systems integration, as his clients' needs
accelerated in that direction. The acceleration was so dramatic that in 1990, Mike
and his former partner, Chuck Davis, founded Multi-Media Solutions, Inc.,
absorbing Computers Plus within it.
Mike guided the company, whose mission statement is "Audio Visual System
Integration with Integrity", in steady upward growth from a 3-person
operation to the current 15-person firm. MMS was chosen as one of INC Magazines
500 Fastest Growing Companies in 2001. Mike expresses his commitment to
integrity by saying, “Our references are more important than sales. It’s easy
to sell boxes, it is life commitment to integrity to
have customers honor us with a reference.”
Mike has his CTS Certification from InfoComm - it is the industry standard certification
program for professionals in the audiovisual industry. The CTS Certification is
the result of a great deal of specialized study for the certification test.
Mike is also one of the founding partners of
the ClearPath Group. (www.clearpathgroup.org); and through
industry recognition, MMS was invited to join the USAV Group, (www.usavgroup.net),
a national Audio Visual Integrator consortium. Mike serves in a leadership
position for the Digital Signage Group within the USAV Group. USAV Group hosts
a number of professional improvement events for its members, and Mike organized
