MULTI-MEDIA
SOLUTIONS INC. WILL PRESENT AT THE TENNESSEE ASSOCIATION OF UTILITY DISTRICTS
CONFERENCE
The AudioVisual System Integrator Multi-Media Solutions will be Providing a Technical Session on the Technology and Integration of State-of-the-Art Control Room Systems.
ALCOA, TN: In the wake of the recent control room design and installation for the Consolidated Utility District of Rutherford County (CUDRC), Mike White, president of Multi-Media Solutions (MMS), will be presenting a technical session at the upcoming TAUD (Tennessee Association of Utility Districts) Conference in Gatlinburg on August 11-13
Hundreds of Tennessee utility officials will be attending the conference, which is entitled “The Business of Running a Utility”.
With the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) concerns about the safety of America’s drinking water, many utilities are upgrading security and process monitoring systems to comply with new requirements set forth by the DHS and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Every utility in TN has completed a “Vulnerability Assessment”, and in many cases control room upgrades are a big part of their action plans.
Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., has recently completed a state-of-the-art command center & monitoring system for CUDRC, and many utilities will be looking to MMS for their expertise and experience in the design and integration of this technology for network operation centers, control rooms, and command centers.
Audio visual system integrators Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., headquartered in Alcoa, designed and built the display system in the new command center to integrate and display system-wide visuals from surveillance and data, to be visible to personnel on a central video wall with 3 large screens. Maps, data, surveillance camera feeds and more are continuously displayed, including a system-wide map which depicts every reservoir, distribution pipe, valve, pump station, pressure monitoring station, water meter and even service vehicles. Live status data, plus GPS transmissions from the vehicles is updated and displayed, ensuring the ability to respond to system defects, disruptions, damage and potentially threatening incidents quickly and efficiently. The entire system can be monitored, controlled, and coordinated by one person. Any image can be resized, zoomed, and panned for greater detail and focus.
Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. is a 15 year old design and integration company offering audio visual technology solutions for commercial, industrial, education and government markets. MMS is a member of the national USAV Group consortium, and has recently been awarded a GSA contract for a comprehensive array of audio visual technology and components. Recent projects include the A/V integration at the Tennessee Air National Guard McGhee-Tyson facility, Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation’s new headquarters, a number of large systems at Maryville College and U.T., and the Knoxville News-Sentinel’s new headquarters. MMS’s corporate headquarters are in Alcoa, with an additional sales office in Brentwood, TN.
