MULTI-MEDIA SOLUTIONS, INC. AWARDED NEW CONTRACT BY THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE

Local A/V System Integration Firm Will Provide Interactive Electronic Whiteboard Technology for UT and the Tennessee Board of Regents Schools.

ALCOA and BRENTWOOD, TN:

Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., has been providing audio visual technology to UT and the Board of Regents schools across Tennessee for many years, and held the multimedia projector contract for the last 5 years. Although MMS has supplied scores of SMART Technologies’ SMART Boards and Sympodium Interactive Pen Displays to UT already, now all of the departments and Board of Regents schools can more easily acquire the technology through the Contract.

Electronic Whiteboards combine the simplicity of a whiteboard with the power of a computer, and research shows that this type of collaborative teaching & learning environment improves the overall retention and interest level of students, and allows instructors to present the material in a vivid way. The touch-sensitive display connects to a computer and digital projector, which enables the user to control computer applications directly from the display, write notes in digital ink over any application, even moving video, and capture all the notes and even audio into a single file for archiving or sharing.

MMS is the authorized reselling partner on UT’s “SMARTer Kids Foundation” Grant, which contributes a portion of the SMART system cost. Each Board of Regents School either already has or should apply for their own SMARTer Kids Foundation Grant.

Higher and K-12 education alike are reaching out for this technology. MMS is the region’s leading Interactive Whiteboard integrator. Powell Valley Elementary School has recently had a SMART Board system installed in every single one of their 17 classrooms, and a number of schools in Blount County have also introduced the technology into many of their classrooms. MMS has provided SMART Technologies systems for an impressive number of schools across Tennessee.

The full line of SMART Technologies collaborative tools will be demonstrated in the SMART Technologies booth at the MMS-produced “Audio Visual Showcase 2005” at the Knoxville Convention Center on August 17th.

Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. is a 15 year old design and integration company offering audio visual technology solutions for commercial, industrial, education and government markets. MMS’s corporate headquarters are in Alcoa, with an additional sales office in Brentwood, TN.
